About Us

Callida - National Level Technical Symposium started in the year 2012 is one of the biggest technical event organised by the Department of Information Technology in Misrimal Navajee Munoth Jain Engineering College.It is initiated with an aim of providing opportunities to the student community to bring out the immense talent in the competitions model to test the technical acumen, programming skills of the participants. The symposium is experimented with technical and non technical events that will inspire young minds.

DESCRIPTION:

Participants have to design their own landing page for the given theme.

RULES
  • The event will be conducted in two rounds. First round- prelims Second round- finals.
  • Only two members per team.
  • HTML,CSS,Javascript must be used,NO frameworks are allowed.
  • Participants have to use notepad or VS Code
  • Participants have to bring their own laptop
  • Only prelims qualified teams can attend finals.
  • Theme will be given at the spot.
  • The time for designing is 90 minutes.

DESCRIPTION:

Paper presentation is an event where the participants are required to make a paper about a certain topic or area, and then present it in front of a jury, following which it will be rated and judged based on their performance. The purpose of a paper presentation is to enhance a particular student’s ability in the art of academic writing or making papers in English and to present it. It also helps broaden the minds of the presenters.

RULES
  • Maximum number of participants in a Team is 3.
  • Paper should be in IEEE Format.
  • Paper must contain index, list of figures, list of tables, abstract, introduction, point wise description of subject and conclusion, Result and references.
  • The topics that the papers can be chosen must focus on one particular topic from technical domain.
  • Presentation document must be between 8- 15 pages.
  • Bring your college ID Card on event day, no entries will be permitted without the ID Card.
  • Kindly bring your PowerPoint presentation on a pen-drive or laptop can also be used to present your document
  • The mail with submissions should contain: Title of the paper, abstract, references, Name and Mobile number of the participants, Name of the College
  • Soft-copies of the submitted paper and PowerPoint presentations must be in the .docx Format on or before 30/03/2023, we will contact you on 02/04/2023 if you're shortlisted for presenation on the event day (06/04/2023)

Project Demo is a technical event ,where the participants have to demonstrate their projects

RULES

DESCRIPTION:

Coding and debugging is a technical event. Participants will get to have three rounds. The first round will be a quiz. In the second round, participants should debug the given program(Java). The final round is given as situational problems where the participants are asked to give programs based on the statement.

  • Python, C++, java programming languages allowed.
  • Participants must bring their own laptop and Internet will not be provided.
  • Totally three rounds will be there - Quizz, debugging and programming.
  • Co-ordinators decision will be final.

Ace the query is a technical event where the participants need to solve the SQL queries and the winner will be awarded based on their skills.

RULES
  • Each team should have maximum of three Members.
  • The event consists of three rounds.

    • Round 1: MCQ related to sql query.
    Round 2:Solving the SQL query.
    Round 3: Debugging of SQL query
  • Mobile phone is strictly prohibited in the event venue.
  • If any team is caught in malpractice, they will be disqualified.

Pick 'n Poise is an oratory showdown that involves picking a topic on the spot and speak about it. pick, speak and inspire!

RULES
  • This is an individual event.
  • List of technical topics will be displayed on the spot.
  • 10 mins will be given for preparation.(Can use your mobile phones)
  • players take turns to randomly pick a topic from a pre-prepared list.
  • Once a player selects a topic, they must start speaking on the topic for 3 mins.
  • Judges decision will be final.

Let your passion for dance take centre stage.

RULES
  • Time limit – minimum 3 mins and maximum 5 mins.
  • It is a SOLO event and only 16 registrations are allowed .
  • Any vulgar/obscene/offensive music/song is not allowed.
  • Participants should bring their song in Mp3 format in a pendrive and submit the pen drive to the event coordinators before the commencement of the event.
  • The participants will be judged on their costumes ,visual presentation and dance forms.
  • Lightning of matchsticks, candles ,cigarettes and derogatory acts are strictly not allowed on stage.
  • Participants should get their own props(if necessary). All props must be specified to the event coordinator and the management will not be responsible for any loss of properties.

Hare and Hounds is an event in which participants work in small teams to find the treasure with the help of given clues. The team who decodes the clue and finds the treasure first will win the game.

RULES
  • Each team can have atleast 3 members and atmost 5 members.
  • Event will be consisting of 3 rounds.
  • First round-- GD on non-technical topic(one member from each team)
  • Second round- non-technical quiz (Two members from each selected team)
  • Third round is the final round. ( All the members from the selected team can participate).
  • Participants should find out the spots where the clues are hidden based on the clues given.
  • Finally TWO teams will be rewarded with prize as WINNER and RUNNER
